Packaging & Delivery

Packaging & Delivery

Deployment Manager manages the submission of production builds, marketing assets and content metadata to global channels; it provides quick and easy deployment for:

Content can be submitted to the channels once a deployment plan is complete. Deployment Manager can directly submit a deployment payload to the Operator or a password protected zip file can be created for manual submission via FTP or Web submission. A complete submission history is maintained to track the status of all content from delivered right up to "live on deck".

Mobile Proting

Mobile Porting

Tira Jump 2007 is based on the concept that between any two mobile devices there are a finite set of differences. Tira Jump contains, maintains and updates differences between mobile devices and provides integrated consoles that manage the mobile content development, porting, and optimization to support new handsets.

The Jump Developer Desktop manages the porting and optimization of reference mobile applications to support new handsets. It provides a collaborative development environment that focuses on code re-use to ensure that development teams are productive and able to seamlessly share code across a workgroup or across a distributed network of development studios. The Jump Developer Desktop is a plug-in for the Eclipse IDE, which enables content developers to leverage the existing source code of an application and apply re-usable code that transform the source code and optimize the application for any target device.

Workflow/Asset Management

Workflow/Asset Management

Deployment Manager provides a production dashboard to control planning, task management, packaging and delivery of mobile content. Project managers can now manage all aspects of the production process from the initial submission of source content to the many task assignments leading to the final target content completion. Deployment Manager also manages any associated creative assets, providing controlled access to the right assets at any time in the adaptation and optimization process.

Deployment Manager includes a Partner Module that extends an organization's project control beyond traditional boundaries to include its partners. The Partner Module enables the workflow engine to manage an entire ecosystem of developers, publishers and porting houses – all controlled through a single interface.

Deployment Planning

Mobile Content Deployment

When managing mobile content deployments today it is imperative that managers have visibility of Mobile Operators and the many handsets they support in order to make strategic planning decisions for their mobile business. This critical information provides the foundation to maximize the deployment of their mobile content while reducing their costs.

Tira Jump includes “Deployment Manager”, a hosted application that enables content providers to optimize the deployment and delivery of all of their downloadable mobile content to channels worldwide. For the first time content providers can manage the porting and deployment of mobile content across a broad range of handsets and operator networks from within an integrated platform. Deployment Manager replaces the many spreadsheets and homegrown systems, in effect streamlining the deployment process.

Deployment Manager includes modules for:

  • Deployment Planning: build deployment plans that identify target operators and mobile handsets.
  • Task Management: create, assign and manage deployment tasks from start to finish.
  • Content Delivery: package and delivery content to mobile operators and portals directly or indirectly by exporting assets into a zip file for manual delivery.
  • Asset Management: provide a secure repository for managing deployable assets as well as marketing assets and metadata.
  • Deployment Status: track the status of all deployed assets from delivery to live on deck.

Tira Jump 2007 Overview

Tira Jump 2007 Overview

Tira Jump 2007 is a true sea change in the industry. We believe mobile application development and content deployment could and should be done by the same team. With Jump 2007, this can finally be a reality.

Highlights of the platform's new capabilities include:

Code Re-Use: Capitalize on your existing development investments

The Holy Grail of any development manager is to be able to re-use and re-purpose a development team's work rather than re-inventing the wheel every time. With Jump 2007, we have created a totally new component model call the Jumplet. Jumplets allow development teams to take commonly used code and actions and turn them into components that can be used by their development team nearby or around the world. There are two types of Jumplets:

Transformational Jumplets

  • Modify a J2ME application from one state to another
  • Modifications can be a device specific and/or application specific bug fix and/or optimization
  • Can be re-usable and also address issues for a particular application and device

Component Jumplets

  • Encapsulates a re-usable software component
  • Examples include a tile engine, a gaming community feature, or a generic game menu

Collaboration: Leverage the experience of your entire team

Not only does Jump 2007 create the framework and infrastructure that allows the re-use of common code, but it also provides the user with the search and discovery tools to find needed components. A system of re-usability does not solve problems unless the users can quickly locate these components. Features of Jump 2007 that support these capabilities include:

  • Searchable component repository of Jumplets™
  • Easy submission and retrieval of commonly used components
  • Capitalize on internal developer knowledge via access to other Jumplets™
  • Tagged and ranked Jumplets based on usage, relevance, user ratings, etc.
  • Intelligent “push” model of context-aware Jumplets™
  • Aware of target device idiosyncrasies to recommend the relevant and necessary components for a successful transformation

Interoperability: Work the way you want to work

We understand that most world-class development teams already have the necessary development life-cycle tools to ensure they operate as efficiently as possible. Jump 2007 has been designed to allow simple integration with your existing build, mobile content management and bug tracking tools. Or any user defined tool that has a definable and accessible API. Highlights of these capabilities include:

  • Provides an open and extensible architecture to plug in your own tools and external processes
  • Leverages industry standard open source tooling
  • Incorporates the ANT build system in its core
  • Seamlessly integrates with your current ANT build process
  • Includes Eclipse plug-in for desktop components
